- We always enjoy going to this dentist office because my soon to be two year old is always entertained by the toys in the lobby and in the room. They are interactive with him while he’s getting a teeth cleaning or exam. He wasn’t even scared. They also gave him a toy when he left and lots of high fives! Good positive energy in this place so we are glad we chose this office.READ MORELESSMegan11/17/2024

When to Call Us for a Dental Emergency
Please contact our office immediately if your child experiences any of the following:
- Accidental Injuries
- Cuts or bites to the tongue, lips, or cheek that result in bleeding or discomfort.
- Trauma to the mouth from sports, falls, or other accidents that may have damaged teeth or soft tissues.
- Cracked, Broken, or Knocked-Out Teeth
- These situations require urgent attention to save the tooth and prevent further damage to the surrounding teeth or gums. Handle a knocked-out tooth carefully by the crown (top) and store it in milk or a clean container with saliva until you can see us.
- Swollen or Infected Gums
- Gum swelling, redness, or tenderness could indicate an abscess or underlying infection that needs immediate evaluation and treatment.
- Severe Tooth or Mouth Pain
- Persistent or intense pain could be caused by cavities, infections, or damage to the tooth’s nerve. Pain that doesn’t go away on its own is a sign your child needs professional care.
Why Prompt Treatment is Essential
Delaying treatment for dental emergencies can lead to:
- Increased Pain and Discomfort: Untreated issues often worsen over time, causing unnecessary pain.
- Risk of Infection: Oral infections can spread to other parts of the body if left untreated, leading to serious health concerns.
- Permanent Tooth Loss: Prompt action is critical for saving a knocked-out or damaged tooth.
- Costlier Treatments Later: Early intervention helps prevent more extensive procedures, like extractions or surgeries, down the line.
The sooner you contact us, the better the chances of preserving your child’s teeth and maintaining their oral health.
What to Do in a Dental Emergency
Here are a few quick tips to manage common dental emergencies before you arrive at our office:
- Knocked-Out Tooth: Keep the tooth moist at all times. If possible, place it back into the socket gently (without forcing it). If this isn’t possible, store the tooth in milk or saliva and bring it with you.
- Chipped or Broken Tooth: Rinse your child’s mouth with warm water to clean the area. Apply a cold compress to reduce swelling and bring the broken pieces with you, if available.
- Toothache: Rinse the mouth with warm salt water and gently floss to remove any debris. Avoid applying aspirin directly to the tooth or gums.
- Soft Tissue Injuries: Apply a clean gauze pad to control bleeding and use a cold compress to minimize swelling.
If you’re unsure about the severity of the issue, don’t hesitate to call our office. Our team will provide guidance and let you know if immediate care is necessary.
